Announcing Enhanced Identity Security with Okta and PingOne Single Sign-On Integrations

YugabyteDB Fully Managed DBaaS Product Updates
Shreyas Agnihotri

YugabyteDB Aeon (formerly YugabyteDB Managed), our fully managed DBaaS deployment option, now natively supports more identity providers*, such as PingOne and Okta for single sign-on (SSO). This update gives users the flexibility to choose their preferred authentication method for login from a variety of options that are setup and enabled by their account admin.

Administrators can now easily automate user setup in YugabyteDB Aeon, without requiring manual invitations, preventing duplicate configurations across systems.

*Previously, we announced support for single sign-on (SSO) leveraging Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) through OpenID Connect (OIDC). Using existing Azure AD identities for login simplifies user access and management for organizations, enhancing security and efficiency while reducing administrative work.

Benefits of Using PingOne and Okta for Single Sign-On

By leveraging both Okta and PingOne as external identity brokers for SSO, YugabyteDB Aeon can offer a unique blend of security, convenience, and scalability:

  • Okta integration lets users access YugabyteDB Aeon using familiar Okta credentials, streamlining their user experience and ensuring robust security through centralized management.
  • PingOne provides seamless no-code orchestration and robust multi-factor authentication to simplify user access across multiple applications.

Both systems adhere to data protection standards and offer scalable directories to support business expansion. These sign-on solutions deliver a comprehensive, secure, and user-friendly SSO experience, catering to diverse organizational requirements.
